Orlando, Fla. - The Grand Valley State women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the spring Monday (Mar. 2), falling 6-3 to Brenau University in the first match of the team's spring trip. The Lakers are 14-3 overall this season.

Audrey Koopsen and Maria Gassanova teamed up to win at No. 1 singles, improving to 11-2 on the season.

Darylann Trout and Jackie Shipman each remained perfect in dual-match play by winning at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Trout dropped the first game 4-6, but responded to win the next two 6-4, 10-6. Shipmen won 6-4, 6-3.

Grand Valley's other match against Lake Superior State was cancelled.
