Grand Valley State dropped a 8-0 decision to St. Joseph's College in second-round action at the 2008 North Central Regional in Crestwood, Ill. Friday morning. GVSU concludes its season with a 34-13 mark. Grand Valley State is one of three teams in DII baseball to appear in every NCAA DII Regional since 2002.
St. Joseph's college struck first as leadoff hitter Mike Staehle hit Brad Raj's first pitch of the game over the left field fence for a HR. St. Joseph's scored two in the first, one in the second and two in both the fourth and fifth innings. The Pumas added a single run in the sixth. Grand Valley State managed seven hits, but five Laker errors contributed to the offensive output for the Pumas.
Brad Raj took the loss, yielding eight runs on eight hits with four strikeouts. Three SJC runs were unearned. LF Casey Robrahn tallied a pair of hits for the Lakers
