Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State held Tiffin without a shot on goal and scored five times in the second half in a 7-0 win. The No. 1 Lakers put 16 shots on frame, including two goals each by Katy Tafler and Kristen Eible, and held the Dragons to just four shots overall. GVSU (16-0, 11-0 GLIAC) travels to Midland, Mich. to take on Northwood for their next match on Friday, Oct. 24 at 4 p.m.

Grand Valley State has now won 24 consecutive conference matches (4th all-time in Division II) and have not lost at home in their last 35 matches (7th all-time in Division II). Tafler's two goals give her 111 goals (3rd all-time in Division II) and 259 points (4th all-time in Division II). The Lakers have given up just three goals in 15 matches this season. Irie Dennis, Erin Mruz and Joyce Rose all scored for the Lakers on Sunday, as well.

Eible started the scoring at the 22:37 mark with a header. Ashley Elsass played a ball from the right post that was deflected into the air by a defender. Eible tracked the ball down and headed it home for a 1-0 GVSU lead. The sophomore forward added to that lead with her third goal of the season just 5:22 later. Dennis rushed down the right side and played a ball along the 6-yard box that Eible buried from the left post. That 2-0 lead held until halftime.

4:11 into the second half, Tafler put the Lakers up 3-0 with an unassisted goal. The ball was deflected multiple times inside the box and no one was able to control it until Tafler took a shot from about six yards out on the left side. She added her second of the game and 17th of the season 6:31 later. Eible lofted a ball from the right side that Tafler headed home from her position at the left post.

Only 1:02 after that goal, Dennis scored her 11th of the year. Off of a throw in, Dennis took the ball from a Tiffin midfielder and simply outran everyone to the goal. Her shot beat Tiffin keeper Abby Grieser to the near post. Erin Mruz scored a pretty goal at the 63:52 mark. With the wind blowing in her favor, Mruz bent a corner kick from the right side that went over Grieser's hands and into the net on the far side, making the score 6-0.

Grieser was replaced by Emily Demorest after the goal, but Rose continued the Laker onslaught. A loose ball came out to Rose on the right side of the box and she launched a shot that found the back of the net for her third goal of the season.

Kristina Nasturzio played 65:33 minutes of scoreless soccer after having her shutout streak of 880:01 (4th in Division II) snapped on Friday. Sam DeNio played 24:27 without allowing a goal, extending her season-long shutout streak to 104:27.
