#1 GVSU Falls to #9 Hillsdale, 3-0

#1 Grand Valley State dropped a 3-0 (30-19, 30-20, 32-30) decision to #9 Hillsdale on Saturday afternoon. The Lakers fall to 18-2 overall and 11-1 in the GLIAC. Hillsdale remains undefeated with a 21-0 overall and 12-0 GLIAC record. The Lakers will travel to Northwood on Oct. 13 at 7:00 p.m. and Saginaw Valley State on Oct. 14 at 2:00 p.m.

Hillsdale dominated games one and two, winning 30-19 and 30-20 respectively. The Lakers fought hard in game three, but couldn't overcome the Chargers. Hillsdale won game three, 32-30, to seal the match. The Chargers hit .328 in the match, while GVSU hit just .191.

Senior outside hitter Megan Helsen posted a team-high 14 kills and 12 digs, while sophomore outside hitter Lauren Reber added 12 kills and six digs. Senior middle blocker Meghan Moore tallied 11 kills and three digs, while hitting . 308. Junior middle blocker Erica Vandekopple had six kills and two assisted blocks and sophomore Jamie Ashmore added 40 assists and 11 digs.
