Grand Valley State sweep Wheeling Jesuit, 3-0 (30-16, 30-20, 30-18) in its first match Saturday in the Amerihost GVSU Fall Classic. The Lakers improve to 5-2 overall and will host Minnesota-Duluth at 4:00 p.m.

GVSU cruised to a 30-16 win as they hit .390 in game one. The Lakers won game two, 30-20, followed by 30-18 game three win. Grand Valley hit .304 as a team, while Wheeling Jesuit hit just .007. GVSU tallied 16 total blocks as a team.

Senior middle blocker Tracy Kirk tallied a match-high 15 kills, while hitting .500 and junior outside hitter Megan Helsen posted 13 kills, a .520 attack percentage, and 10 digs. Sophomore Alyson Riley recorded 21 digs, while redshirt freshman Jamie Ashmore led GVSU with 25 assists.
