Midland, Mich. - Mirela Tutundzic scored the the game-winner in the 55th minute of action Wednesday afternoon in Midland as GVSU claimed a 2-0 victory over Northwood. #10 GVSU improves to 10-1 overall and 1-0 in GLIAC action.

GVSU dominated play from the onset, recording nine shots on goal in the first period but no goals to show for. However, Mirela Tutundzic chipped a shot past Northwood goalie Caroline Bonynge on an assist from Ashley Elsass in the 55th minute and Tara Stacy added the Lakers' second goal on an assist from Katie Duda in the 74th minute. GVSU notched 19 shots on goal and 15 corner kicks, while Northwood managed just four shots on goal and zero corner kicks. GVSU goalie Kristina Nasturzio recorded the shutout with two saves.

GVSU will next be in action at Northern Michigan Sunday, Oct. 2.
