Grand Valley State swept Indianapolis, 3-0 (30-20, 30-19, 30-27), in their first match of the Ashland Invitational Friday. GVSU improves to 6-3 overall and will play Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 10:00 a.m.

Senior middle hittle Tracy Kirk tallied a team-high 16 kills, while recording a .379 attack percentage, a service ace, and two solo and three assisted blocks. Senior outside hitter Tina Tromblay added nine kills, a .533 hitting percentage, four digs, and assisted blocks, while redshirt freshman Danielle Alexander posted nine kills and a .750 attack percentage.

The Lakers hit .317 as a team, while recording 10 service aces and nine blocks.
