Grand Rapids, Mich. - Grand Valley State jumped out to a 35-21 halftime lead and never looked back en route to a 72-50 victory over Aquinas College Monday night in Grand Rapids. Grand Valley State will open GLIAC action at Saginaw Valley State Thursday (Dec. 1) in the league opener.

GVSU shot 48.3 percent in the first half (14-29), while building a 14 point halftime lead. Aquinas hit just 25.0 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes and just 26.9 percent for the game. GVSU pulled down 20 offensive rebounds en route to a 48-21 rebounding advantage. The Lakers held a 42-18 scoring advantage in the paint.

Niki Reams led GVSU with 20 points, while Erin Cyplik added 17 and Crystal Zick 14.
