Romeoville, Ill. - Kyle Carhart hit a three-pointer with just over two minutes left in the game to put the Lakers up 56-54 and Dan Redder hit the game-winner with 1:26 left to give GVSU a 58-56 lead. Carhart then hit a free throw with 12 seconds left to increase the Laker lead to three (59-56). GVSU improves to 3-1 with the regional victory and hands Lewis its first loss of the year (3-1).

The score was tied after 20 minutes of action at 26-26. GVSU built a 53-48 lead with just over five minutes left, but Lewis went on a 6-0 run over the 2:22 to take a 54-53 lead before Carhart's three-pointer.

Junior forward Mike Hall led GVSU with a game-high 19 points, while Jason Jamerson added 14 points and nine rebounds. Junior center Dan Redder added seven points and seven rebounds, while Courtney James netted seven points and dished out five assists. Callistus Eziukwu blocked six shots. The Lakers hit 50 percent (23-46)of their shots from the floor, while Lewis connected on just 35.8 percent (19-53).
