Lakers Roll To 90-38 Victory Over Grace Bible

Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State beat Grace Bible College 90-38 at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena Monday night. Junior Dan Redder tallied 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds off the bench for Grand Valley. The Lakers improved to 2-0 on the year and will travel to Northern Kentucky on Wednesday, Nov. 23 to take on the Norse at 6:30 pm.

The Lakers started the contest above the rim on a dunk by sophomore center Callistus Eziukwu who was on the receiving end of a perfect pass from senior point guard Courtney James. Grand Valley never looked back racing out to a 42-22 halftime lead. The Lakers held a 24-9 rebounding edge over the Tigers and recorded 16 points in the paint.

GVSU increased the defense in the second half forcing the Tigers to shoot 5-26 (19.2%) from the floor. Grace Bible was able to put up only 16 points against the stout Laker defense. The Lakers had four players in double-digits, led by sophomore guard Jason Jamerson and Redder with 15 points apiece. Eziukwu added 13 points, nine boards, and two blocks in 24 minutes of work. Junior guard Kyle Carhart contributed 10 points, five assists, and three steals off the bench.

The Lakers will travel to Northern Kentucky on Wednesday, Nov. 23 to take on the Norse at 6:30 pm. The game can be heard on WBBL-AM 1340 and on the Laker radio network.
