#10 GVSU Posts 3-0 Win Over #23 Wheeling Jesuit

Grand Valley State picked up its second win of the day, recording a 3-0 (30-23, 30-19, 30-22) win over #23 Wheeling Jesuit Friday night at the Radisson Riverfront Classic held in the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. The Lakers improve to 4-2 overall and will continue the tournament on Saturday as they host Truman State at noon.

GVSU posted an outstanding .379 attack percentage, while Wheeling Jesuit hit just .065 in the match. The Lakers hit .351 as they won game one, 30-23. GVSU tallied a 30-19 game two win, hitting .500 and recording zero errors. Grand Valley hit .302 in its, 30-22, game three win.

Junior Stephanie Maciasz led the way for the Lakers, tallying 15 kills, 22 total attacks for a .682 attack percentage. Junior Tracy Kirk hit .625 in the match, recording 11 kills and 16 total attacks. Junior Tina Tromblay tallied a team-high 14 digs, while sophomore Molly Young added 13 and senior Leah Kunz had 10 digs and 31 assists. Junior Lauren Hanson tallied five assisted and one solo blocks.

The Lakers tallied four solo and 14 assisted blocks and five service aces.
