Lakers Improve to 2-0 in GLIAC With 3-0 Win Over Findlay

Grand Valley State swept Findlay, 3-0 (30-28, 30-26, 30-18) in GLIAC action at the GVSU Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon. The Lakers improve to 10-3 overall and 2-0 in GLIAC action.

GVSU tallied a .269 attack percentage, while Findlay hit just .047. Grand Valley came back and won game one, 30-28 and pulled out another close one in game two, 30-26. GVSU won game three easily, 30-18.

Leading the way for GVSU was junior Tina Troblay, who tallied 11 kills, two assisted blocks, and a .321 attack percentage. Junior Tracy Kirk also added 11 kills, two aces, and two blocks, while hitting .304. Sophomore Alyson Riley posted a team-high 13 digs, and sophomore Megan Helsen added 11. Junior Lauren Hanson recorded five assisted blocks and junior Michele Ehrlich had 33 assists.

Grand Valley will travel to the Upper Peninsula for three GLIAC matches next weekend.
