Midland, Mich. - Grand Valley State recorded a double-header sweep Tuesday afternoon at Northwood, claiming victories by scores of 4-0 and 3-0. GVSU improves to 22-4 overall and 4-0 in GLIAC action. Grand Valley State will host Wayne State on Friday and Hillsdale on Saturday.

In game one, the Lakers scored a single run in the first and another in the fifth. GVSU sealed the win with two more in the top of the seventh to build a 4-0 lead for all-american Jen Mackson. In addition to yielding just three hits with nine strikeouts, Mackson was stellar at the dish with two hits and an RBI. Lindsey Crawford and Sara Vroegindewey each drove in a run with a hit.

In game two, GVSU scored the only run it needed in the bottom of the fifth and then added two more in the sixth to build a 3-0 lead. Kristin Jenner picked up the win, yielding three hits in six innings of work, while Mackson tallied the save with a hitless seventh. Jen Goldschmeding was 2-3 with and RBI, while Erin Ballinger and Miranda Titler each drove in a run.
