Grand Valley State's men's tennis team defeated Michigan Tech, 8-1, in a GLIAC match-up Saturday at Ramblewood. The Lakers improve to 14-7 overall and 3-5 in GLIAC play. GVSU will play at Aquinas College on Wednesday, April 14 at 3:00 p.m.
The Lakers swept all three doubles matches and took five out of the six matches in singles action. Kyle Dehne and Nirun Raju teammed up for a 8-6 win at #1 doubles, while Kyle Klinge and Adam Sandusky won 8-1 in #2 doubles action. Michael Bambini and Mike Rhoads won their match at #3 doubles, 8-6.
Dehne suffered the lone Lakers loss at #1 singles, 7-6, 6-2. Klinge won 6-2, 6-2 at #2 sinles, Raju defeated his opponent, 6-0, 6-3 at #3 singles, and Sandusky won 6-1, 6-0 at #4 singles. Pete Schwallier won 6-0, 7-6 at #5 singles and Justin Sauerbrey talllied a 6-0, 6-1 win at #6 singles.
