Grand Valley State's men's tennis team defeated Lake Superior State, 5-4, on Friday. The Lakers are now 13-7 overall and 2-4 in GLIAC play. GVSU will host Michigan Tech on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Ramblewood.
Lake Superior State took two out of three doubles matches, with GVSU's win coming to Kyle Klinge and Adam Sandusky (8-4) at #2 doubles. Kyle Dehne fell, 6-2, 6-2 at #1 singles, but Grand Valley took four out of the five remaining matches to seal the win. Klinge won 6-0, 4-6, 6-2, at #2 singles, while Nirun Raju picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win at #3 singles. Sandusky won 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 at #4 singles and Pete Schwallier defeated his opponent, 6-2, 6-3 at #5 singles. Justin Sauerbrey fell 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 at #6 singles.
