Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State dropped a 60-56 decision to Northern Michigan Saturday (Feb. 28) at the Fieldhouse Arena. GVSU failed to qualify for the GLIAC Tournament with the loss and concludes the 2003-04 season 11-15 overall and 8-10 in GLIAC action.

GVSU led 30-29 at the half and both teams battled throughout with eight ties and five lead changes. However, NMU hit a couple of big three-pointers in the final five minutes and GVSU was unable to get a good look at a three in the closing seconds down by three. Julie Zeeff concluded her career with a double-double, scoring 19 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Julia Braseth added nine points and Taushauna Churchwell eight for the Lakers in defeat.

Zeeff, Cori Jewett, Jessica Hart and Kelly Erskine concluded their careers for the Lakers.
