Lakers Record Big Win at Northwood, 72-54

Grand Valley State's women's basketball team kept its post-season hopes alive as they defeated Northwood University, 72-54, in Midland Thursday night. The Lakers improve to 11-13 overall and 8-8 in GLIAC action, while Northwood falls to 5-19 overall and 2-14 in the GLIAC.

GVSU was on fire in the first half, as they shot 60.7% from the field and took a 47-23 lead at halftime. The Lakers tallied 11 three-pointers on the night, coverting 52.4% from behind the three-point arc.

Grand Valley was led by senior guard Cori Jewett who tallied 21 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while senior forward Jessica Hart added 16 points on the night. Senior center Julie Zeeff recorded 11 points and six rebounds and freshman forward Megan Razavi added eight points.

The Lakers will have a week off before they return home for their final two regular season home games. GVSU will host Michigan Tech on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 6:00 p.m. and Northern Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 1:00 p.m.
