#11 Grand Valley State improved to 21-4 overall and 13-1 in GLIAC action with a 3-1 (30-26, 30-23, 21-30, 31-29) win over #18 Northwood Friday night. The Lakers will play at Saginaw Valley State on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 4:00 p.m.

GVSU tallied a .221 attack percentage on the match, while Northwood hit just .174. The Lakers recorded 20 blocks on the night. Grand Valley was led by sophomore Megan Helsen who tallied a team-high 16 kills, a .412 attack percentage, 13 digs, and five assisted blocks. Senior Stephanie Maciasz-Dow added 10 kills, four digs, and three assisted blocks, while junior Lauren Hanson posted 10 kills, three digs, and seven assisted blocks.

Junior Tracy Kirk tallied a .438 hitting percentage, eight kills, and three blocks, and junior Tina Tromblay added six kills and 15 digs, Redshirt freshman Alyson Riley led the team with 17 digs and junior Michele Ehrlich recorded 20 assists and 10 digs. Senior Leah Kunz tallied 19 assists.
