Grand Valley State trailed Findlay 1-0 in the second half, but came back to score five goals and pick up the 5-1 win. The Lakers are now 14-3 overall and 5-1 in GLIAC action, while Findlay drops to 8-5-1 and 3-2. GVSU will host Ashland University in a key GLIAC contest on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 1:00 p.m.
Findlay's Jessica Booth scored the match's first goal on a penalty kick at the 46:54 mark. Sophomore midfielder Shannon Carrier scored the Lakers first goal at the 54:30 mark and junior defender Rachel Bondy added the second one 25 seconds later. Junior forward Mirela Tutundzic recorded her first goal on a breakaway at the 62:16 mark, and added her second on at 64:03 on a Kristi Vandeberghe assist. Junior forward Jaci Lange posted GVSU's final goal at the 69:41 mark on a Tutundzic assist.
Sophomore Erin Murphy recorded the win with two saves.
Grand Valley recorded 26 total shots, including 15 on goal, while holding Findlay to just four shots, three on goal.
