Chico, Cal. - #16 Grand Valley State improved to 2-0 on the year with a 2-0 road victory over Cal State Chico Thursday night. GVSU will continue its West Coast road swing with a match versus Dominican on Friday (Sept. 5) afternoon.

GVSU used efficient shots on goal offensively and timely saves defensively to claim its second straight victory. Sophomore all-american candidate Mirela Tutundzic scored her second game-winning goal of the year in the 48th minute on penalty kick to put the Lakers up 1-0. The Lakers then put the match away in the 76th minute when Jordan Stevenson touched in Katie Rozun's perfect cross at the far post to make it 2-0. Senior goalkeeper Melissa Henson made five saves to secure the victory.
