Grand Valley State defeated Ferris State, 4-0, Saturday for the first time since 1999. The Lakers finish the regular season by tallying a school-best 16-1-2 record. GVSU finished with a 6-0-2 record in GLIAC play.

The Lakers tallied a 2-0 lead at halftime, after Jennifer Swalec scored on a Mirela Tutundzic assist and Melissa Bauer scored on assists by Shannon Carrier and Swalec. Rachel Bondy added the third goal on assists by Swalec and Tutundzic and then Tutundzic scored the final goal of the game on a Carrier assist.

Grand Valley outshot Ferris State, 24-11 and had a slight 11-8 edge on shots on goal. Senior goalie Melissa Henson tallied eight saves.

GVSU has advanced to the NCAA DII Regionals and the host site, dates, and times will be determined on Monday, November 8. Check back on GVSU's athletic website for more information.
