Grand Valley State dominated play with ball, however, the University of Missouri-St. Louis put two-of-three shots on goal in and went on to claim a 2-1 victory Sunday (Sept. 15) at the GVSU Soccer Field.
In the 23rd minute of action UMSL's Lindsey Siemens scored the first of her two goals on the day. The Lakers drew even at 39:38 when Mirela Tutundzic scored to tie the contest at 1-1. Katie Rozum and Erin Spika drew the assist for GVSU. However, Siemens scored the game-winner just over a minute later (40:42)on a penalty kick.
Rebecca Senn recorded eight saves for UMSL, while GVSU's Melissa Henson stopped one shot. The Lakers notched 16 shots on the day, nine of which were on goal.
