Grand Valley State defeated Findlay, 59-46, in the GLIAC opener Monday night. The Lakers were led by senior guard Laurie Rehmann's 21-point, eight-rebound, three assist, three steal effort in 39 minutes of action.

GVSU jumped out to a 26-20 lead after 20 minutes of action. Findlay took a brief lead in the second half (31-30), but the Lakers regrouped and went on a 17-5 scoring run to take a commanding 47-36 lead. Junior center Julie Zeeff recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while sophomore Diana Voikos chipped in nine points and 12 caroms. Senior Jennifer Nielsen added six points and a team-high six assists.

Grand Valley State limited Findlay to just 26.9 percent shooting from the field and forced 22 turnovers. GVSU will return to action Thursday (Dec. 5) at GLIAC foe Mercyhurst.
