Grand Valley State's women's basketball team improved to a perfect 3-0 on the season with a 64-47 victory over Cornerstone University on Monday night at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. The Lakers held the Golden Eagles to 13% shooting and 13 points in the first half to jump out to a 13 point halftime edge and never were threatened in the second period.
The Lakers held Cornerstone to 29.8% shooting from the field for the game and held a 55-37 rebounding edge for the game. GVSU also registered 19 assists out of their 26 made field goals compared to only five assists from Cornerstone.
Senior Laurie Rehmann led the Lakers with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Julie Zeeff tallied 17 points, 10 boards, and three blocked shots. Diana Voikos added 8 points and 8 rebounds.
Grand Valley next matchup will be against Tri-State on Friday, November 29 at 6:00 pm in the Fieldhouse Arena.
