Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State wrapped up third place in regular season GLIAC standings after a 9-0 sweep of Ashland on Saturday (Oct. 12) in Allendale, Mich. The Lakers swept the #2 and #3 doubles matches and Nikki Fairchild and Stephanie Donston won their singles matches without dropping a game. GVSU is 9-2 on the season with all matches against GLIAC opponents.

Marie Cameron and Kellen Lynch remained a perfect 11-0 in doubles action with an 8-0 victory in the #2 spot. Cameron and Lynch also picked up wins at #1 and #4 singles, respectively. Alison Koopsen, and Zanobia Syed earned the other singles victories at #3 and #6. Kim VanSprange and Koopsen teamed up for the 8-0 sweep at #3 doubles while Fairchild and Laura Sukup were 8-2 winners at #1 doubles.

The Lakers will be the third seed in the GLIAC Tournament which will be held in Midland on Oct. 25-26.
