BAY CITY, Mich. – Grand Valley State senior
Chris May was named the GLIAC men's athlete of the week Monday after posting a time of 24:09.49 at the Greater Louisville Classic this weekend.
The senior from Elmhurst, Ill. was able to earn his first ever GLIAC athlete of the week honors after his ninth-place finish in the Gold race consisting of over 300 runners from over 30 Division I and II schools.
The Greater Louisville Classic was May's first official scoring race for the 2016 season as he ran unattached in the MSU Spartan Invitational two weeks ago in East Lansing.
Joining May as the women's GLIAC athlete of the week was Hillsdale's Molly Oren, who finished 34
th in a field of more than 350 runners at the Greater Louisville Classic. She was the top finisher for Hillsdale at the meet.
GVSU continues competition this weekend on October 7th and 8th at the Lansing Community College Invitational and the Conference Crossover.
