GRAND LAKES, Colo. – The Grand Valley State women's lacrosse team remains in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II poll, released Monday afternoon.
Grand Valley State, who sit at 2-3 after upsetting #18 Indiana (Pa.) 14-12 last week, received votes after dropping from the Top 20 in the week three poll. Joining the Lakers in receiving votes are Lenoir-Rhyne (3-3), Indiana (Pa.) (1-2), Belmont Abbey (5-2), and Saint Leo (5-2).
The biggest change in this week's poll comes after Rollins upset Limestone, 16-9, this past Saturday. The win moved the Tars from #13 to #12, while the loss dropped the Lady Saints from #5 to #10. It was the biggest change, both positive and negative, in the entire poll.
Limestone's loss moves New Haven up to #4, Florida Southern to #6, Mercyhurst to #7, and Stonehill to #9. Another change in the Top 10 s Le Moyne dropping from fourth to fifth after losing 16-9 to Lock Haven on Thursday (Mar. 12).
Three teams make their first appearances of the season in the poll. Bentley (4-2) moves to 18th, Seton Hill (3-1) moves up to 19th, and Pfeiffer (3-3) ranks 20th.
The Lakers also made an appearance in the Nike/
Lacrosse Magazine Division II media poll, ranking 19th after their upset win over the Crimson Hawks. GVSU ranks ahead of Queens (N.C.) at #20 and behind Dowling at #18.
Grand Valley State travels to Ohio, when they face Urbana on Friday (Mar. 20) at 6 p.m. The Lakers then host their first home game of the season on Tuesday (Mar. 24) when they welcome #3 Lindenwood to GVSU Lacrosse/Track & Field Stadium at 7 p.m.
