Lakers Lead Dan Salisbury Memorial Event After Day One

The Grand Valley women's golf team put forward a very strong showing after the first day of the NCAA East Super Regional Preview, and sit firmly in the top spot with a combined team score of 306. Grand Valley has a 16 stroke lead over second place California-PA.

GVSU is led by a low score of 72 from freshman Alex Amos, followed by junior Danielle Crilley (75), junior Alex Taylor (78), senior Gabrielle Shipley (81) and sophomore Samantha Moss (83).

"We handled the conditions very well and managed their way around the course," said GVSU head coach Rebecca Mailloux. "We made a lot of birdies and our short games are improving. Alex Amos played especially well, recording three birdies."

The Regional event continues tomorrow with an 8 a.m shotgun start. Check back with gvsulakers.com for final results.
