ALLENDALE, MICH. - For the first time this season, and the second time in her career, Grand Valley State sophomore
MacKenzie Bisballe has been named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Across two Laker victories, Bisballe totaled 23 points, 16 rebounds, four steals, three blocks, and three assists. In a 92-57 victory at Findlay, the Lake City, Michigan native recorded 16 points, eight boards, and a steal and was part of a defensive effort that helped hold the Oilers to a season-low scoring output. On Sunday, in the home opening win over Northwood, she had seven points, eight rebounds, three steals, and three blocks. The Laker defense held Northwood to just 56 points, their lowest point total this season.

This season, Bisballe leads the Lakers with 14.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, while adding 10 steals and six blocks. She has helped lead the Lakers to a 6-0 start to the season and the number one ranking in the country. GVSU begins GLIAC play this weekend, hosting LSSU on Thursday at 5:30.
