    John Mahan is Grand Valley's first 2,000 yard rusher and first Laker football player to be named to the NAIA All-District 23 First Team. The 5-8, 165-pound halfback rushed for 100 yards on eight different occasions including a school record 256 yards against Manchester in 1973. Mahan held seven GVSU rushing records from 1971-73. Graduate of Charlotte High School.
