Coral Springs, Florida - Grand Valley State placed three individuals on the 2008 National Golf Coaches Association DII All-American Scholar Team that was announced today. Senior Tracey Puckering (Midland, Mich./Dow), sophomore Caitlin Bennett (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./North) and freshman Allison Tyler (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Central) were among 76 DII women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor. Bennett finished sixth at the NCAA DII National Championships, while Puckering was 23rd and Tyler 31st.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66 percent of the institution's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
